
All living organisms are classified into five kingdoms, from small bacteria to human beings.This classification has a fundamental basis established by the scientist Robert Whittaker and has contributed greatly to the study of beings living on Earth.

The five kingdoms of Whittaker
Robert Whittaker was an important plant ecologist in the United States.He focused on the analysis of plant communities.He was the first person to propose that all living things be classified as Five kingdoms.Whitetaker relied on two fundamental characteristics for its classification:
- Classification of living beings according to their food n: depending on if the organism is fed through photosynthesis, by absorption or by ingestion.Photosynthesis is the mechanism that plants have to take carbon from the air and produce energy.Absorption is the method of feeding, for example, bacteria.And the intake is the action of taking nutrients through the mouth.
- Classification of living beings according to their level of cellular organization : we find prokaryotic organisms, unicellular eukaryotes and multicellular eukaryotes Prokaryotes are single-celled organisms, and that is, formed by a single cell and characterized by not having a nucleus inside, its genetic material is floating inside the cell.The eukaryotic organisms can be unicellular or multicellular beings (formed by many cells), their main characteristic is that its genetic material is in a structure called nucleus, within the cell or cells.
Uniting the characteristics that make up the two previous classifications, Whittaker classified all living beings into five kingdoms : Monera, Protoctista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia.
1.Kingdom Monera
The Monera kingdom includes unicellular prokaryotic organisms.Most feed through absorption, but some perform photosynthesis such as cyanobacteria.
Within Monera kingdom we find two sub-submarines, the one of the archaebacteria that are microbes that live in extreme environments, for example places with very high temperatures, such as the hot water chimneys that they exist in the ocean floor.And the sub-region of eubacteria .We can find eubacteria in almost any environment on the planet, they play important roles in the life of the Earth and some produce diseases.

2.Protoctist or Protist Kingdom
This kingdom includes the single-celled eukaryotic organisms and some simple multicellular organisms .There are three main sub-sub-protists:
- Algae : unicellular or multicellular aquatic organisms that perform photosynthesis.They vary in size from microscopic species such as micromones to giant organisms that reach 60 meters in length.
- Protozoa : unicellular organisms mainly, mobile and are fed by absorption (such as amoebas) that are represented in almost all types of habitats and include some pathogenic parasites of humans and domestic animals.
- Protist fungi : protists that absorb their food from dead organic matter.They are grouped into 2 groups, silt molds and water molds.Most mushroom-like protists use pseudopods ("false feet" ) to move.

3.Fungi Kingdom
The kingdom Fungi is made up of multicellular eukaryotic organisms , they feed through absorption.They are mostly decomposing organisms, secreting digestive enzymes and absorb small organic molecules released thanks to enzymes.In this kingdom are all fungi and mushrooms.

4.Kingdom Plantae
This kingdom includes the multicellular eukaryotic organisms that perform photosynthesis.Through this mechanism, plants produce their own food, by capturing carbon dioxide and water.Plants do not have a solid skeleton, so each of their cells has a wall that keeps them firm.
They also have sex organs that are also multicellular and form embryos during their life cycles.found in this kingdom are, for example, mosses, ferns and flowering plants.

5.Kingdom Animalia
This kingdom is composed of multicellular eukaryotic organisms .They feed through the intake, eating food and digesting it in specialized cavities inside the body, such as the digestive system of the vertebrates.None of the organisms in this kingdom have a cell wall, as is the case with plants.
The main characteristic of animals is that they have the ability to move from one place to another, more or less voluntary.All the animals on the planet belong to this group, from sea sponges to dogs or humans.
